Capital Arts at a glance
Capital Arts is a non-profit Community Art Gallery whose mission is to encourage, promote and support the arts in Jefferson City, Missouri and the surrounding areas. The gallery doors were first opened in January 2009. We host nine exhibitions annually to encourage local artists by offering the space to show and sell their work. Capital Arts has exhibited hundreds of Artists and displayed thousands of pieces of art.
Capital Arts is also committed to offering classes, workshops and camps that allow all people the chance to try their hand at a wide variety of art making methods.

Capital Arts is a volunteer-based organization. We rely on our dedicated volunteers to keep the doors open. We currently have enough volunteers to keep our gallery open Thursday, Friday and Saturdays for limited hours. With your help, we can change that! Volunteering for a non-profit like Capital Arts is a great way to get involved in your community. Not only is it a great way to help others, but it can add to your professional resume or even help with college applications (for our younger volunteers!)
Capital Arts welcomes volunteers of all ages! Bring a friend or family member to keep you company! Bring a book! You can even bring your own art to work on, or simply spend the time admiring the many pieces on display at any given time. You can volunteer as little as two hours each month...it adds up! The bottom line is without the support of our dedicated volunteers, Capital Arts can't realize it's mission to support and promote art within the community.
Help us support and encourage local arts by becoming a volunteer today! Signing up is quick and easy!
