Capital Arts Street Chalk Art

Capital Arts Street Chalk Art is an annual event held in conjunction with Jazzfest.  This year's Chalk Art is Friday, September 9 & Saturday, September 10, in downtown Jefferson City.  On Friday the streets will come alive with kids and brilliant colored chalk creations.  Local schools are encouraged to participate!  On Saturday, with live jazz setting an artistic mood, a diverse group of amateur and professional artists of all ages take chalk to the streets for top honors and prizes.  Whether creating a well-known piece of art or making an original, participants bring the pavement to life!   One need not be an artist to join in, all are encouraged to unleash their creativity in this day-long event. In addition, there will be artist tents full of wears.
