CAPITAL ARTS PROGRAMS

The Capital Arts Gallery gives artists a venue to exhibit and sell their artwork. The Gallery along with ongoing Studio workshops benefits the community as a whole. Artists are encouraged to exhibit and teach with Capital Arts

Capital Arts Studio Classes are available year-round. Check out our class descriptions.

Capital Arts Street Chalk Art
September 7, 2013 Downtown, Jefferson City. This Jefferson City tradition becomes more popular each year. Friday will be an opportunity for school groups to show their creativity on the street. Day two consists of live jazz and live art as the streets are lined with a diverse group of amateur and professional artists of all ages, chalking it up for top honors and prizes. Whether recreating a well-known piece of art or making an original, participants make the concrete come alive. One need not be an artist to join in; all are encouraged to unleash their creativity in this day-long event.

Art in a Suitcase RETURNS again this year! Volunteers present history, life stories, engaging lessons and the artwork of masters from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in custom made suitcases to fourth graders in our community. Six featured artists are introduced to the children throughout the year. They anticipate which “Master” will visit next.

Imagination Station
Capital Arts offers an Art Education opportunity for children in our community. The Capital Arts Imagination Station is designated for moms and their kids to drop in and create art! (no kids left unattended) It is geared toward pre-schoolers, older home schooled children also welcome. Imagination Station is equipped with recycled materials (plastic containers, paper towel tubes, egg cartons, etc.) as well as scissors, glue sticks, crayons, markers and paints.
