James Crow

James Crow

jjcrow@wildblue.net

James Crow, a native of St. Louis, has lived in central Missouri for over three decades and has been an artist and teacher for most of that time.  He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Missouri in Printmaking and Drawing, but enjoys working in various media.  In addition to etchings, stone lithographs and monotypes, he works in oils, watercolors and pastels.  Much of the subject matter for his work comes from landscapes and cityscapes found locally.  He has been with Lincoln University of Missouri since 2005, and teaches a variety of two-dimensional art courses.  Teaching and making art are labors of love for Crow because, as he says, “Nobody goes into teaching…or the field of art, for that matter, to get rich.  You have to love it.”
