Debbie Schellman
Debbie Schellman
Recently retired in 2006 from a long career as a
special services teacher in Jefferson City, Missouri, Debbie is
enjoying the pursuit of her heart’s other callings, painting and
photography. She first began painting in watercolors in the 1980’s, and
credits her father, Harold Stricker, with sparking her initial interests
in painting.
Debbie also would like to thank the following
artists and teachers for their influence and inspiration in her artistic
pursuits: Marsha Helms, Marilynne Bradley, Ann DeRosier, Dave Bennet,
Terry Martin, and many other fine artists and friends in the Jefferson
City Art Club.
Debbie Schellman’s one-woman art exhibits include The
Railton Gallery in 2007, The Missouri River Regional Library Gallery in
2009, and the Runge Nature Center in 2009.
In addition to
teaching a variety of classes at Capital Arts Gallery in Jefferson City,
Debbie works in her home studio in watercolors, pastels, oils,
acrylics, and digital photography.
