I was born in Columbia, Missouri, and have lived most of my life in the central Missouri area. My interest in art started early in life but I never took it seriously enough to try it for myself until I was 18 years old. I am a self-taught artist, and have been painting since 1950. My medium of choice is oil and my subject matter constantly changes. My first paintings were of some locations in Rocheport, Missouri, where I lived at the time. A street scene painted in 1969 is on display in the Rocheport museum. My artwork has been on exhibit at numerous mid-Missouri shows over the years and two invitational shows, one in Kansas City and one in Excelsior Springs, MO. I have received numerous awards including “Best of Show”, “People’s Choice”, and “First Place”.
