Larry Carver

Larry.Carver@modot.mo.gov

Born and raised in Cole County outside of Jefferson City, Missouri during the baby boom era, rural settings and nostalgic Americana is apparent in many of Larry’s paintings.  He often paints of days gone by or nature capturing color in a memorable scene.  His love of the outdoors shows up in landscapes where the sky takes center stage.  Golden sunrises or a contrasting shadowy sunset plays on the elements of his sometimes-comical composition.

Larry is a self-taught artist.  He constantly researches for a theme of a composition.  The painting must make the viewer pause and inject his own storyline to the scene captured in a single frame.  Working primarily in acrylics, Larry has worked in pointillism pen and ink and watercolor.

“I choose to do paintings in which vivid color and mood excites me and hopefully others.”

Mr. Carver is a member of the Jefferson City Art Club and has won several awards.  He currently lives in Jefferson City.
